Barbara Jacks

Mrs. Barbara Jean Sutcliffe Jacks, 75, of Concord, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast, Concord. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Concord, NC. Memorial services will be held at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, FL on June 19, 2010. She was born on November 6, 1934 in Wilkes Barre, Luzerne County, PA to the late John Edward and Edythe Emma Mawhorter Sutcliffe. A native of Pennsylvania, Barbara moved to Florida in her teenage years and married Robert Henry Jacks, Jr. in 1955. She was a social worker by trade and worked for many years with developmentally disabled adults. Barbara was very creative and in her retirement she enjoyed making many gifts by hand for her family and friends. She attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Concord. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Henry Jacks, Jr., who passed away in December, 2006. She is survived by: daughters, Karen Green and husband Eric, of Concord and Kathy Wolff and husband Tim, of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Thomas and Jessica Wolff, of Tallahassee, FL, Taylor Wolff, of Tallahassee, FL, Emma Rose Green and Matthew Green, of Concord. Memorials may be made to All Saints Epsicopal Church, 525 Lake Concord Road, Concord, NC 28025.
