Barbara Mclain

Barbara Ann Starnes McLain, 72, of Midland, NC, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home. Mrs. McLain was born July 6, 1939, in Cabarrus County. She was preceded in death by her father, Myrtle “Bub” Leroy Starnes and mother, Thelma Caulder Starnes. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and a homemaker. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 2:00, Thursday, with a 30 minute state, at Berea Baptist Church of Stanfield. Rev. Brad Phifer will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Survivors include her husband, Van David McLain, of the home; sons, Dwayne McLain and wife, Carman, of Monroe and Rodney McLain and wife, Colette, of Concord; brother, Tommy Starnes, of Kannapolis; sister, Elsie Faye Starnes, of Morganton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is assisting the McLain family.
