Barbara Whitley

Barbara Kay Whitley, 73 years of age, of New London, passed away at Carolinas HealthCare Systems Hospital in Albemarle.
Mrs. Whitley was born May 28, 1943 in Stanly County to the late Allen Roy Thomas and the late Selma Layton Thomas. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Allen Thomas, her first husband, Sherrill Whitley and her second husband, Keith Horne.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2017, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by her brother, Roger Thomas. Burial will follow at the Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in New London.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Whitley and wife, Toni, Paul Whitley and wife, Lisa, Glen Whitley and wife, Cindy, and John Whitley and wife, Jennifer all of New London; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
