Barney Edwards

Barney Dean Edwards, 55 years of age, of New London, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center- Main in Charlotte. Barney was born April 29, 1958 in New Jersey to Harvey Wayne Edwards and Doris Pauline Simpson Edwards of New London. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Lynn Edwards, in July 2013. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 22, 2013 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. In addition to his parents, he is survived by sons, Waylon Edwards and wife, Vanita of Gold Hill and Jock Edwards of New London; daughters, Dana Spivey and husband, James of Chadbourn and Wendy Montanez of Gainsville, GA; brother, Johnny Edwards of Troy; sister, Saundra Edwards of New London and 14 grandchildren.
