Bartley Deese, Jr.

On Thursday, July 29, 2021, Bartley Houston Deese, Jr., fifty-two years old, gazed into the face of our Savior Jesus Christ as he was welcomed into Heaven.

At an early age, Bart dedicated his life to serving God. He attended Northside Christian Academy and graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1987. From there, he went on to attend and graduate from UNC Charlotte, going on to become a Certified Public Accountant. He worked at First Union which is now Wells Fargo for over twenty-five years, striving to be an example of a hard worker and a man of great faith. He had a monumental impact on those he came in contact with, both at work and at church.

His parents, Bartley H. Deese, Sr. and Marilyn A. Deese, emphasized the importance of a personal relationship with God, and he attended Green Memorial Baptist Church for the majority of his life. There, he met his wife, Michelle Deese, and served on the deacon board and multiple committees. Following the prompting of God, he moved his family to Pitts Baptist church about thirteen years ago. There, he has served as a deacon, Vice Chairman of the Deacons, Chairman of the Deacons, and Sunday School teacher.

He had a monumental impact on all those that came in contact with him. His laughter, stories, support, and love will be forever remembered in the hearts of his wife, Michelle Deese; his daughter, Mikayla Deese; his son, Noah Deese; many cousins and other relatives; his lifelong friends; his Wells Fargo team, and many of his church family.

To celebrate the life that Bart lived, The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Monday, August 2nd, 2021, at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, North Carolina. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, at 10:00 am at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, officiated by Pastor Scott Davis. Burial will follow the service in the Church Cemetery.

In regards to Memorials, Bart greatly valued several organizations to which Memorials can be made. These organizations include: Bright Blessings, Samaritan’s Purse, Pitts Baptist Church/Benevolence Fund, and Second Harvest Food Bank.
