Baxter Honeycutt

April 29, 1927 — August 10, 2015

Baxter A. Honeycutt, 88 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Honeycutt was born April 29, 1927 in Stanly County to the late James Edward Honeycutt and Margaret Ann Bass. He was also preceded in death by his sister Ruth Chandler.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Main Street United Methodist Church, 1100 West Main Street in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Fred Carpenter. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street in Albemarle.

Mr. Honeycutt served in the Navy for four years and in the Air Force for over sixteen years. His hobbies included his love for classic cars and completing crossword puzzles. He was involved with the Methodist Men and his church for as long as he was physically able. Baxter loved his family, friends and church.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Jane Honeycutt of the home, daughter, Nancy Honeycutt of Albemarle, brothers Aaron and wife Betty Sue Huneycutt of Wadesboro, Daniel and wife Florence Huneycutt of Marshville, Jacob and wife Joretta Efird of Oakboro, sister Polly A. Ezzard of Lawrenceville, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 1100 West Main Street, Albemarle, NC or Community Homecare and Hospice of Troy, 120 N. Main Street, Troy, NC.
