Beatrice A. Cotton, 85, of Concord, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast. The family will receive friends at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Road NW, Concord, on Sunday, August 19, 2012, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:50 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Scott Davis, will follow in the church at 4:00 p.m. Burial and a graveside service, officiated by Rev. Jeff Gongwer, will be at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, GA on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Beatrice was born on January 11, 1927, to the late George Arland Grant and the late Beatrice Chadwick Grant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Warren D. Rich; and a daughter, Patricia Ann Rose. She was a member of Pitts Baptist Church. She was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Indian Creek Baptist Church in GA. She is survived by her husband, George Melvin Cotton; four sons, Bruce Arland Rich of Cedar Park, TX, William Lawrence Rich of Harrisburg and George M. (Rusty) Cotton and Daniel Thomas Cotton both of Johnstown, NY; two daughters, Coleen Mary Cotton of Clayton and Marilyn Joy Cotton of Alloway, NJ; 16 grandchildren, Tricialyn Wurst, Ricky Rose, Tiffany Rowand, Tara Byrum, Russell Cotton, Shawn Cotton, Beth Ann Cotton, Andy Rich, Melissa Rich, Laurie Merritt, Julie Sims, Matthew Rich, Leah Rich, Joseph Rich, Samuel Rich and Sarah Rich; ten great-grandchildren, Airek Byrum, Makayla Byrum, Tyler Byrum, Ashlee Cotton, Cody Wurst, Michael Rich, Blake Rich, Caleb Merritt, Ezra Merritt and Logan Sims. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Cotton family.
