Beatrice Hartsell Phillips, 93, of Concord, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis. The family will receive friends in the parlor of Epworth United Methodist Church, 1030 Burrage Road NE, Concord, NC on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Dr. Glenn L. Myers, Jr., will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. At other times the family will meet at the home of her son, Doug, 314 Crestside Dr, Concord, NC. Mrs. Phillips was born on May 23, 1918, to the late Jason Lee Hartsell and Mary M. Wallace Hartsell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Everette Phillips; and a sister, Ruby Lee. She was previously a supervisor for Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill She is survived by two sons, Michael Phillips and wife, Pamela of Mt. Pleasant and Doug Phillips and wife, Dean of Concord; three grandchildren, Andrew Phillips of Charlotte, Elizabeth Martin of Baton Rouge, LA and Jason Phillips of Raleigh; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Robbie and Abigail; a caring nephew, Garland Lee and wife, Georgia; also a caring niece, Susan Lee and a host of other nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the hospice staff for all of their care and dedication. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081, or to a charity of one’s choice.
