Bennie Davis

Bennie Ray Davis, 71, formerly of Albemarle, NC, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Levine Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC. Mr. Davis was born December 12, 1939, in Anson County, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ison Davis; mother, Allyene Crowder Davis; daughter, Barbara Ann Ballard; and brothers, Clarence, Henry, Charles, James Junior, and Curtis Davis. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Midland. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his brother, Tom, at 2771 Lilly Drive, Midland. Survivors include his wife; Betty Jean Sadler Davis; sons, Anthony Bernard Burrough and wife, Joyce, and Bennie R. Harris, all of Charlotte; daughters, Tawana Burrough, Charline Burrough, Pamela Morris, Arkina Harris, Stephanie Dunkin, and Tiffany,all of Charlotte; a special nephew, Maurice Sadler; brothers, Tom Davis, Rufus Davis, and Horace Davis, all of Midland, and Josh Davis of Charlotte; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, is serving the Davis family.
