Bennie Efird

Bennie Webster Efird, 75 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at his home.

Bennie was born January 28, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Claude Flave Efird and the late Maggie Josephine Hartsell Efird. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Florence Burris, Ruby Hinson, and Sarah Rand.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday at Paul's Crossing Baptist Church in Richfield officiated by Rev. Keith W. Walters. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle. At other times the family will be gathering at the home.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise Barrier Efird of the home; son, David Efird and wife Kim; daughter, Donna Blake; son, Lamar Efird and wife Laura; sisters, Eva Rowell, Nellie Furr, and Autie Furr; special friend, Sierra Tinkey; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001, and Paul's Crossing Baptist Church, 40461 Paul's Crossing Rd., Richfield, NC 28137.
