Bernard Vincent Cascio, 79 years of age, of Locust, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center - Union in Monroe.
Bernard was born November 4, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Vincent Michael Cascio and the late Nora Javee Tucker Cascio. He was also preceded in death by his ex-wife, Sue Crayton Cascio; and step-brothers, Harvey Jenkins, Hal Jenkins, and Robert Allen Jenkins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Albin Greenwood, will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Military honors will be conducted by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard.
He is survived by his sons, Richard Cascio of Locust and David Cascio of Warsaw; sister, Sharon Dalton and husband Jim of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Kayla Michelle Cascio of Locust; nieces, Tanya Connell Hinson, and Cathy Jenkins Ulrich and husband Mike; nephew, John Jenkins and wife, Beth; and special caregiver, Carol Laney.
Bernard loved to dance and travel. He was a very loving and generous person. Bernard honorably served his country in the United States Air Force.
