Bernice Barrier

Bernice Flora Pless Barrier, 96 years of age, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at her home in Mt. Pleasant surrounded by her family.

Bernice was born June 19, 1918 in Cabarrus County to the late James and Betty Faggart Pless. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wilson Barrier; three sisters; and six brothers.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Roger Armistead. The burial will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Concord. At other times the family will be meeting at her home.

She is survived by her sons, Max Barrier and wife Ginger of Mt. Pleasant, Cecil Barrier, Sr. and wife Linda of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Cecil Barrier, Jr. and wife Donna, Annette Barrier and husband Daniel, Amy Robinson and husband Marq, all of Mt. Pleasant; seven great-grandchildren: Ray, Michael, Jeremy, Maxwell, Brayden, Karleigh, and Evan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernice loved gardening and her Saturday afternoons spent with close friends shopping and dinning out. She was a faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
