Bernice Burris

Bernice Burris, age 80, of 30624 (Hwy 73) Cane Dr. Albemarle, N.C., died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Burris was owner of Burris Tire and was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will meet at her home. Born November 30, 1928 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Neal Ledbetter and the late Esther Hall Ledbetter. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Javan Burris, second husband Jessie Claude Dover, Jr., brothers, Woddrow and Alvin Ledbetter and sisters, Thelma Frye and Myrt Pennington. She is survived by her Son-Ricky J. Burris and wife Sue of Albemarle, N.C. Son-Phil Burris and wife Lori of Albemarle, N.C. Grandchildren, Michael Burris, Steven Burris, Matthew Burris, Julie Burris Edwards and husband Danny, Tonya Burris. Great Grandchild, Leland Edwards Sister-Dorothy Kimrey of Belmont, N.C. Sister-Bill Cook of Concord, N.C. Sister-Helen Russell of Belmont, N.C. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle, P. O. Box 7, Albemarle, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Funeral service will be at Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2009 , Rev. Mike McClellan Rev. Bob Elwood Rev. David Goble officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle, N.C. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
