Bernice Lingerfelt Morton, 81 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Mrs. Morton was born December 14, 1934 in Stanly County to the late George Lee Lingerfelt and Carrie Mae Lingerfelt . She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Hoover Morton, brother, David Lingerfelt and son-in-law, CJ Burnette.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM , Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle . The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev David Sanders. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.
Survivors include sons, Rodger Morton and wife Betty and Rhonnie Morton both of Oakboro, daughter, Bonnie Burnette of Locust, grandchildren, Richard Dale Morton, Derek Shaun Burnette, and Shanna Dawn Curry, seven great grandchildren, sisters, Evelyn Harris, Joann Snipes, Jewell Surratt, Marie Williams, Jane Crump, Elaine Richardson and Kay Poplin, brothers, Jimmy Lingerfelt and Wayne Lingerfelt, and Bernice's dog, Peanut.
