Bertha Baucom

Bertha Barbee Baucom, 87, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord. Ms. Baucom was born July 31, 1926 to the late William Harley Barbee and the late Lula Barbee. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by husband of 61 years, Obie Baucom; four brothers, Frank, Fred, Hubert, Melt, and Don Barbee; one sister, Leao Whitley; and niece, Elizabeth Thomas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Steve Pennington will be held on Monday at 2:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park of Kannapolis. She is survived by three nephews, Frank (Wanda) Whitley of Concord, NC, Bill (Betty) Whitley of MD and Wayne (Suzanne) Barbee of High Point; a niece, Diane (Tom) Shores of Cornelius and numerous great nieces and great nephews which she dearly loved. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church,1119 Union St. South, Concord, NC 28025. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Baucom family.
