Bertha Measmer

Bertha Elizabeth Munson Measmer, 73, of Concord, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at CMC-Northeast. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at the Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bob Page, will be at Immanuel Baptist Church, on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2pm. Burial with follow at West Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Measmer was born February 14, 1939 to the late Lester and Sudie Munson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Measmer. She is survived by her; dog, Buddy; nephew, Rex Measmer and wife Molly of Concord; niece, Ann Austin and husband Charlton of Greensboro; her brother, Willie Ray Munson; her uncles, Jim Munson and wife Dot of Concord, Joe Munson of Concord; aunts, Rachel and Bill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bertha loved singing in her church choir, gardening and her work at Wayside Restaurant. She was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and caring for them during times of illness.
