Biography Bessie Marene Burris, 85 years of age, of Asheboro, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro.
Ms. Burris was born February 8, 1931 to the late Eugene Ephriam and Essie Hinson Burris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Julius and Grant Burris, and one sister, Sarah Davis.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating.
Survivors include: brother, Carl Burris of Albemarle; sisters, Margaret Curlee of Charlotte, Rosa Gene Barbee of Oakboro; niece, Dremia Davis Meier and husband David of Asheboro; nephew, JB Davis and wife Claire of Asheboro; nieces, Barbara Coley of Oakboro, Brenda Davis and husband Don of Albemarle, Marcia Huber of HI, Rhonda Cilento of Asheville; nephews, Julius, Jr., Boyd, and Blaine Burris all of Oakboro, Reid Barbee and wife Michelle of Oakboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dream Makers c/o Cross Road Retirement Community, 1302 Old Cox Rd. Asheboro, 27205.
