Bessie Kempa

Bessie Irene Kempa, 90 years of age, of Concord, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Carolina's Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

She was born March 27, 1924 in Cabarrus County to the late James Houston Robbins and the late Bessie Robbins.

Bessie was a graduate of Bethel High School. She moved to Baltimore, MD in her younger years and lived there for over 50 years before returning to Concord in 1995.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Kempa; sisters, Dorothy R. Hartsell, Edith R. Garmon and Violet R. Haigler; brothers, Lewis, Leeolin, Clayton and Albert Robbins.

Survivors include her daughter, Reba S. Morrison (Jim), of Midland; several grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; sister, Willie R. Beaver (James), of Concord; a number of nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff at Avante' of Concord for their loving care where Mrs. Kempa had been living and to the nurses and doctors at the ACCU at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center.
