Betty Brattain

Betty Lou Collins Brattain, 75 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast in Concord. Mrs. Brattain was born January 3, 1937 in Cabarrus County to the late Benjamin Laverne Collins and Mamie Dick Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Lee Brattain, and a son, Kevin Burleson. The memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland officiated by Rev. Chip Alsobrooks. The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mineral Springs Church Cemetery in Oakboro. Survivors are her daughters, Reecia Barefoot of Denton, Alechia Smith of Peachland and Mellissia Bates of Peachland; her sisters, Mable Smith of Iva, S. C. and Pauline Flynn of Little Rock, Ark.; her brother, Wayne Collins of Monroe; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to West Stanly Christian Ministries, P. O.
