Betty Ruth Clay Campbell, 77, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus..

Betty was born September 1, 1945 in Concord to the late Edward Smoot Clay and the late Jessie Garmon Clay.  She was also preceded in death by sister, Anita.

Betty was a devout Christian and member of Village Chapel.  She enjoyed spending time with family.  Most of all, Betty was a loving Maw Maw and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty's Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Village Chapel in Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. Ken Salisbury, Rev. Jeff James, and Rev. Chris Daniel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 2:00 pm.  

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Robert Campbell, Sr. of Kannapolis; son, John (Annette) Campbell, Jr. of Rockwell; daughter, Penny (Tommy) Henry of Cheraw, SC; brother, Ronnie Clay of Concord; four grandchildren, Amanda Henry, T.J. (April) Henry, Travis (Kelsey) Campbell, Taylor (Andrew) Blackwell; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Village Chapel, 310 Brookdale St., Kannapolis 28083.
