Betty Dewberry

Betty Jane Rushing Dewberry, 80, of Matthews, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Dewberry was born October 22, 1930, in Union County to the late Grady Burrett Rushing and Jenny Ann Connell Rushing. She was also preceded in death by her son, Guy Michael Rushing; four brothers and four sisters. The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The memorial service will begin at 4 p.m., in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland officiated by Rev. Whistle Burris. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Survivors include her husband, Jack Edward Dewberry of the home; her daughters, Debi Kline of Charlotte and Lily Smith of Lexington; her sisters, Edna Moore and Sue Rushing, both of Charlotte; her granddaughter, Dee Bauer; and great-grandchildren, Wesley and Jackson Smith and Mara and Jake Bauer.
