Betty Lou Langley Farbo, 79 years of age, of Concord, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
Mrs. Farbo was born February 3, 1936 in Windber, PA to the late Walter Langley and the late Elizabeth H. Langley.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Farbo; as well as sisters Sarah Campbell and Martha Becony.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 3:00 pm at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Dr. Darrell Huneycutt.
Survivors include her son, Greg Farbo and wife, Stephanie of Concord, NC; daughter, Pamela Rubley and husband, Phil of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Tanya Johnson, Lauren Paglione, Ryan Farbo, Trevor Farbo, McClain Farbo, Crista Pecuil and Marc Rubley; great grandchildren, Shelby, Harrison, Nicholas, Giuliana, Alexander, Parker, Chesney, Josh and Dylan; brother, Thomas Langley and sister Ethel Grove.
Betty loved the Lord and was a charter member of Garden City Baptist Church in Garden City, SC. She was a first soprano soloist and Sunday school teacher in multiple churches around the country and the United Kingdom. She also performed missionary work in the United Kingdom. Betty retired from The Pentagon in the 1990's and continued a career in real estate until her passing. Always a bold and vivacious personality, she was known as the, "Fireball of Personnel," at RAF Mildenhall, UK.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC or the Wounded Warriors Project.
