Betty Ferguson

Betty Jean Hartsell Ferguson, 77 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Betty was born September 12, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Herman Lee Hartsell and the late Gladys Mae Lee Hartsell. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Bud, Gerald, and Billy Joe Hartsell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, January 27, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Darrell Nance. The burial will follow at the Community Baptist Church Cemetery at 818 N. Central Ave., Locust. At other times the family will be gathering at the home. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joe Lee Ferguson of the home; son, Ricky Joe Ferguson and wife Lori of Stanfield; daughter, Kathy Knox and husband Brian of Midland; brother, Junior Hartsell of Stanfield; sisters, Josephine Ferguson, Kay Whitley, and Brenda Burris, all of Stanfield; six grandchildren, Maria, Mindi, Chrystal, Rick Jr., Joshua, and Jo-Jo; and five great grandchildren. Betty loved her family, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a fun loving person, who was a best friend to many.
