Betty Green
October 2, 1938 — July 1, 2017
Betty Jane Green of Mt. Pleasant NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at Carolina’s Medical Center-Northeast.
Betty was born on October 2nd, 1938 in Concord NC to the late Charles Fletcher Smith and Myrtle Elizabeth Smith. She is also preceded in death by her brother Lewis Fletcher “Moon” Smith.
She is survived by her husband and loving companion of 61 years, Thomas Allen Green of Mt. Pleasant; son, Michael Green of Rockwell; son, Tracy Green (Deborah Green) of Kannapolis; sister, Margie Smith ( Joe Smith) of Concord; granddaughters Amanda Krout (Joshua Krout) and Courtney Sandberg (Casey Sandberg) both of Kannapolis; and two great-granddaughters, Berklee and Sydnee.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5th at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord NC with the funeral service taking place immediately after in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, 3892 Hwy 73 E, Concord, NC 28025. Pastors Mickey Howard and Buck Canup will be officiating the service.
Betty loved her family and her church. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist and the family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in her name to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 16122 St Martin Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129.
