Betty was a loving wife, mother, maw-maw and friend that will greatly missed. She was a strong southern woman with a quick wit. Betty enjoyed vacationing with her family at the beach where she loved fishing off the pier at the family beach house. She loved spending her time antiquing with her husband, particularly collectible antiques and artwork. She was known for her quirky saying "Don't go around collecting wooden nickels". She left a fond lasting impression on all those who met her.
Survivors include husband, Hershel Smith of Kannapolis, NC; daughter, Crystal (Carl) Davenport of Kannapolis, NC; granddaughter, Ashley (Joshua) Robbins; grandson, Layton Davenport; and great-grand children Madelyn and Kendall, and many other beloved extended family.
