Betty Johnson

Betty Kennedy Johnson, 75, of Concord, NC passed away on May 16, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 17 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. At other times the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Cecile Overcash, 8413 Middleton Circle, Harrisburg, NC. The service will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 11 AM at Harrisburg United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. Rev. Dan Hester will officiate the services. Ms. Johnson was born in Davidson County on June 24, 1935 to the late Bascom and Frankie Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Richard Johnson Sr. She was always faithful and loving to everyone, a very loyal friend, wonderful mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Ms. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Cecile Johnson Overcash and husband Kirk of Harrisburg; son, Charles Richard Johnson Jr. and wife Rhonda of Concord; grandchildren, Kristin Overcash Wall of Concord, C. Dustin Overcash of Wilmington, Maggie Lauren Johnson of Concord, Wesley Brennan Johnson of Concord; great-grandson, Thomas Edwin Wall IV; and her beloved dog, Sonnie.
