December 13, 1929 – February 13, 2025
Betty Lou Myers West daughter of John Victor Myers and Nellie Faye Horne, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025 at the age of 95. Born on December 13, 1929, she entered the world alongside her twin sister, Bobbie, beginning a life rich with love, devotion, and faith.
Betty married her first love, Everett West, and together they built a life filled with nearly 70 years of unwavering love. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, faith, and their deep bond.
As a mother, Betty was a guiding light to her 5 children: Vic (Deb-deceased), Linda (Bobby), Frank (Vicki), Johnny (Rachel), and Grady. She found immense joy in the ever-growing love of her family, always staying connected and cherishing each moment with those she held dear.
Her legacy continues through her 9 grandchildren, her 14 great-grandchildren and her 5 great-great-grandchildren. She poured love into each generation, leaving behind cherished memories and traditions.
Betty’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. Beyond her faith and family, Betty had a passion for crocheting and canning vegetables from her garden. She lovingly crafted blankets and baby hats for most of her grandchildren, ensuring they each had a special piece of her warmth and care. She also wrote two meditation books with over 100 devotions.
Her family and the Lord were everything to her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to those she loved, and the faith that guided her throughout her life. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3:30-5:00 pm at Core Community Church, 11525 Lower Rocky River Road, Concord, NC with the celebration of life service held at 5:00 pm. There will be a private graveside service for the family.
In place of flowers, the family invites donations to Masonic Home for Children Oxford (https://mhc-oxford.org) and Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus (https://www.atriumhealthfoundation.org/get-involved/donate) in her honor.
Rest in peace, Betty. Your love and legacy will never be forgotten.
