Betty married Clyde Morrison on April 14, 1962 and they were married 33 years before his passing on January 22, 1996. She was also preceded in death by step-brothers, James Phillip Huneycutt Sr. and William Bill Huneycutt. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at West Stanly Baptist Church. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Ron Nichols will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at West Stanly Baptist Church in Albemarle. Burial will follow at the Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 20415 Hwy. 24/27 West, Oakboro, NC. Betty worked in the payroll department at Southeastern Materials for 30 years. She enjoyed reading her bible, watching classic movies, antique collecting, walking with her dogs, visiting Old Salem, working in her gardens and visiting historical sites. However, her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren sharing her love, kindness and wisdom with them. Her family was the center of her life which she would use her caring and kindness to nurture and support. She always had a warm smile and a kind word for all she would greet. Betty has touched the lives of so many individuals from family to friends; her love and compassion will be missed, but not forgotten. She is survived by sons, Paul Gregory Morrison and wife, Leah of Albemarle and Mark William Morrison Sr. of Oakboro and daughter-in-law, Sharon Morrison of Norwood; grandchildren, Mark William Morrison Jr., Daniel Paul Morrison, Chase Hunter Morrison and Carla Smith. Also surviving are nephew, James Phillip Huneycutt, Jr.; niece, Gay Huneycutt Almond; cousins, Geneva Beachum, Kay Vanhoy, Reece Eury and special friend, Carl Burris. The Morrison family wishes to thank Dr. Steffens and his staff, and the TLC staff for their caring and kindness they provided for Betty. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Danny and Shirley Bowers for all the help and support they give without hesitation; to Geneva Beachum who Betty considered more a sister than cousin, for all her love and support; to Carl Burris for who it is hard to find the right words to express the gratitude this family feels for his caring, help and support he provided for Betty. Memorials may be made to West Stanly Baptist Church, 24172 Hwy. 24/27, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Morrison family.
