Betty Newsome

Betty Newsome, 79 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at CMC- NorthEast in Concord.

Mrs. Newsome was born February 25, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Thomas J. Murray and Ila Tucker Murray . She was a retired seamtress at Stanly Knitting Mills. Betty loved people and being with her friends.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, Monday, July 20, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 11:00 am officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include husband of 58 years, Henry W. "Pete" Newsome of the home.
