Betty Yow

Betty Jean Clontz Yow, age 79, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully, with her family at her bedside on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at her home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times the family will meet at the home. The funeral service will be Friday, February 3, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church with a 30 minute state with Rev. Jim White officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was born on July 20, 1932 to the late Alfred Obediah Clontz and the late Cora Ethel Crayton Clontz. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Henry Clontz, Bill Clontz, Ruth Leigh, Bessie Burris, Lela Yow, Louise Poplin, June Crayton, and Dottie Barnette. Mrs. Yow is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Rayford Milton Yow; two daughters, Vickie Gail Harward and husband Donnie and Sherry Dianne Daniels and husband Bruce, both of Stanfield; siblings, Autie Connell, Blanche Yow, Johnnie Clontz of Stanfield; and Brenda Horne of Marshville; 5 grandchildren, Amy Floyd, Ashley Furr, April Athey, Matthew and Paige Daniels; 6 great-grandchildren. A retired hairstylist, Mrs. Yow was a long time member of Loves Grove United Methodist Church. She was an inspiration to her family and friends.
