Beverly Joanne Brown

Beverly Joanne Brown, 85, of Concord, NC passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Beverly was born February 6, 1938 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Peter Di Natale and the late Irene Gregory. 
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Howard "Chickie" Marschner.

If there was a single word to define Beverly, the word would be Faith. Her love of Jesus was unparalleled and guided her life of love for everyone. It clearly had taken root at a very young age when she gladly accepted the challenge of providing care for her mother after she suffered a major health problem. It was obvious in the way she raised her children. While raising 4 kids, she managed a college degree in nursing which led to a lifetime career as a nurse. It was much more than nursing, it was truly caring for and loving her patients. With life taking her to various states, she always found a church family. At church, she became very inspired by missionaries she had met. After 2 mission trips to Taiwan and Mexico, she fully committed herself to being a missionary. After many months of training, at the young age of 69, she was off to Burma (Myanmar) where she spent 3 years ministering and nursing in a country where Christians are persecuted by a military dictatorship. She had so much love for the people there and brought home even more. The remainder of her life has been spent in North Carolina continuing to love everyone she encountered, whether it was greeting (and hugging of course) everyone that walked in the doors of Rocky River Church, being the official greeter in her neighborhood, the Christian Women’s Connection, one-on-one discipleship, bible studies with the women in the local jail and countless strangers. She had a gift of reaching people and an uncanny ability to find them, wherever they may be. Even if she had to go to jail.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Rose Marschner, son Leon (Cindy) Brown, daughter Jannelle (Bruce) Ingalls, son Wade (Penny) Brown and son Keith (Doreen) Brown. Grandchildren, Peter Brown, Erik Ingalls, Matthew (Jalissa) Brown, Adam (Xueying) Brown, Kyleigh (Eric) Dechow, Megan (Dan) Leduc, and Amy (Jarett) Cash. Great grandchildren Chloe and Liam. She also had many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Rocky River Church in Concord, followed by a reception and will be officiated by Pastor Jimmy Britt.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you simply BLB "Be Like Beverly"...love a stranger, be a friend, help anyone. Put everyone first and serve.
