Billy Crump

Billy Joe Crump, 73 years of age of Stanfield, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. Mr. Crump was born July 2, 1938 in Mecklenburg County to the late Clifford McDonald Crump and Ollie Presson Crump. He was also preceded in death by his brother Haywood Crump and his sister, Barbara Crump Presson. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, June 18, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral will be at 11:00, Tuesday, at Love’s Grove United Church in Stanfield with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jim White and Rev. Coy Blackman will officiate. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include loving wife of 36 years, Yvonne Greene Crump and his son, Chad, of the home; his brothers, John Crump of Midland and Jeff Crump of Mint Hill; and his sisters Bernice Helms and Ruth Belk of Monroe, Ann Harris of Oxford, Joyce Harris of Stanfield, Bessie Rushing and Louise Bradley of Mint Hill, and Pauline Edwards of Charlotte Memorials may be made to Love’s Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 276, Stanfield, NC 28163. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Crump family.
