Billy Hargett

Billy Wayne Hargett, age 75 of 32434 Charlie Road, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on December 13, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Born in Norwood, NC on December 12, 1934, he was the son of the late Grady and Beatrice Pope Hargett. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Catherine Phifer Hargett of the home; son, Terry Wayne Hargett (Cindy) of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Elaine Hargett Byers of Flintstone, GA; and stepson Gary Wayne Furr (Carla) of Ventnor City, NJ. Three grandchildren: Tiffany and D.J. Anderson, and Jeff Hargett also survive as well as a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16 from 12:30 to 2 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the church. Pastor Joe Smith will officiate. Burial will be Thursday at 11 am at Fairview Memorial Park. The family will meet at the home. Memorials may be made to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, 1309 Old Charlotte Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
