Billy Ray “Bill” Linker, 85, of Renee Ford Road, Locust, passed away March 25, 2010, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. Mr. Linker was born September 28, 1924, to Sidney J. Linker and Ida Easley Linker who preceded him in death. His wife, Helen Hatley Linker; brother, Lloyd Linker; and sisters, Annie Bell Barbee and Mable Furr also preceded him in death. Mr. Linker retired from Black & Decker and later Snap-On Tools, both in Charlotte. He served on various committees of Pine Bluff UMC, National Beekeepers Association and Woodmen of the World. He enjoyed his friends and music. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 – 8:00, Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Sunday, 4:00, Pine Bluff United Methodist Church, 11000 Reed Mine Road, Midland, with a 30 minute state, officiated by Rev. Kevin McCormack. Great nephews, Micah, Jason, and Dwayne Linker, Steven Crisco, Mark and Brad Goodman, will be pallbearers. Survivors include nieces and nephews; a good friend and recent caregiver, Louise Shirley; and a young friend, Blake. Memorials may be sent to Pine Bluff UMC, P. O. Box 485, Midland, NC 28107, Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081, Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001, or Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
