Billy Parks McDonald, 71 of Concord, went to be in God’s hands on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. The family meeting place will be at the home of son Michael 1201 Abbey Lane, Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 6 until 8pm. The funeral service will be held at Rocky River Presbyterian Church 7940 Rocky River Road on Saturday, February 25th at 11 am following a 30 min. state, with Dr. Kyle Hite officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Billy was born on January 4, 1941 in Cabarrus County, to the late Marvin Lee Parks McDonald and Carrie Elsie Riley McDonald. He was also preceded in death by brothers Jerry and Ricky McDonald. Billy retired from ADM in Charlotte with 38 years of service, and was a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church. He was a great and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann Gray McDonald of the home; sons, Michael Ray McDonald and wife Lori, Billy Eugene McDonald; daughter, Robin McDonald Hartsell and husband Eric; brothers, William Jesse “Butch” McDonald, Randy McDonald, Jimmy McDonald; sisters, Jane Tallent, Shelbie Webb; grandchildren, Blake Allen Childers, Garrett Michael McDonald, Maggie Leeann Hartsell; honorary brother, John Weber.
