Billy Morrison

Billy Bethea Morrison, Sr., 74, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Concord, died Friday, August 7, 2009. Mr. Morrison was born July 19, 1935, in Cabarrus County, to the late Fred Smith Morrison and the late Annie Belle Black Morrison. He graduated in 1955 from Bethel High School in Midland, and retired from Concord Telephone Company in 1979. Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, from 6 to 8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. A chapel service will be held at 2 PM Monday, August 10, at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Survivors include wife, Lottie Goodman Morrison of the home; two sons, Billy Bethea Morrison, Jr., and wife Lisa, of Concord, and Roger Lynn Morrison, and wife Edie, of Little River, SC; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Suzanne Messer, and Ashley Lynn Morrison, both of Little River, SC; one great-granddaughter, Desirae LeAnn Messer, of Little River, SC; one sister, Ruth Morrison Hartsell, and one brother, Wellon C. Morrison, both of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Parks, S. Robert and Spurgeon Morrison, and sister, Frances Small, all of Midland. The family will be meeting at the home of Mrs. Jean Goodman, 188 Wilson St. NE, Concord. Memorials may be made to Solaris Hospice, 124-B Professional Park Dr., Conway, SC 29526. Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, is serving the family.
