Billy Stancil, Jr.

Billy Joe Stancil, 30, of Stanfield, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 in Waynesville, NC.

Billy was born July 27, 1988 in Stanly County to Billy Joe Stancil Sr. and Lisa Lynn Stancil.
He was preceded in death by brother, Joshua Stancil; and grandfathers, Ralph Stancil, and Charles Huneycutt.

Billy grew up in Stanfield, NC, and attended Stanfield Elementary and West Stanly High School, graduating in 2006.  He later attended Montgomery Community College and received an associate's degree in forestry management.  He worked as an arborist for Environmental Consulting Inc.  Nothing made Billy happier than the love of the outdoors.  He loved being at Maws feeding the deer, ducks, and turkeys.  He always took the road less traveled, even if it meant an uphill battle.  Billy was an old soul and always said death wasn't something that he feared.  His pawpaws and brother were standing at Heaven's gate with open arms.  We are heartbroken at our loss, but joyful in the fact Billy has found his happy ever after.  Fly high until we meet again.

Survivors include father, Billy Joe Stancil, Sr. of Stanfield, NC, mother, Lisa Lynn Stancil of Stanfield, NC, sister, Heather (Jarred Garrison) Stancil of Waynesville, NC, maternal grandmother, Peggy Huneycutt of Stanfield, NC, paternal grandmother, Georgia Stancil of Oakboro, NC; special companions, Sara Ann and her son Dawson; and his four legged buddy, Jade.

We would like to thank so many family members and friends for all the calls, messages, and sharing such sweet memories during such a difficult time.  A memorial service to honor Billy's life will be held at a later date.
