Blanche Hatley
August 28, 1930 — January 21, 2017
Blanche Marie Carriker Hatley, 86, of Locust, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her home.
Blanche was born August 28, 1930 in Stanly County to the late Ransom Asyria Carriker and the late Velma Fleeta Carriker. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Hubert Lee "Bud" Hatley, who passed away in 1990; and brother, Carol Carriker.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. The burial will be at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 24517 Ridgecrest Rd., Locust.
She is survived by her son, George Lee Hatley and wife Angela of Albemarle; daughters, Luann White and husband David of Charlotte, Bonnie Burris and husband Danny of Locust, Teresa Carriker and husband Michael of Oakboro; brother, Gerald Carriker and wife Sylvia of Belmont; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Blanche proudly worked as an elementary school teacher for the Stanly County School System for 34 years.
