Bobby Burgess

Bobby Brooks Burgess, 77 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Burgess was born December 16, 1937 in Georgetown County, South Carolina to the late Zaphia Cletus Burgess and Sudie Brooks Mills. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Little Burgess.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Brian Medlin and Dr. Kinney Wallace. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include son, Steve Burgess and wife Susan of Oakboro; daughter, Wanda Simpson and friend Donald Misenheimer of Oakboro; five grandchildren, Dana Simpson, Deidra Bunn, Andrew Burgess, Brian Burgess and Cooper Burgess; eight great grandchildren, Chloe, Ashton, Connor, Ephraim, Jeriah, Amon, Samuel, and Kaylie; brothers, Zeke Burgess and Ted Mills; and sister, Brenda Holmes.

Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 4694 NC 205 Hwy, Oakboro, NC 28129.
