Bobby Silas Curlee, age 84, of Locust, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at home with family by his side.

Bobby was born October 14, 1932, son of the late Silas William and Ada Pearl Curlee. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Melvyn Curlee.

Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked as a mechanic for Town & Country Ford, Charlotte and retired from Lum's Ford, Albemarle. Bobby was an active member of First Baptist Church of Locust for 62 years. He was a founding member of the Weavers Park Horseshoe Club. Bobby shared his love of cars with friends and family.

Survivors include beloved wife of 62 years, Willie Honeycutt Curlee; daughter, Janet C. Teeter (Michael); son, Edward Curlee (Susan); three grandchildren, Angela Smith (David), Amy McNeill (Gary) and Sarah Curlee; and six great-grandchildren, Justin Wiley (Courtney), Kolbie Hudson, Jason Smith, Korbin McNeill, Kinslie McNeill, Brittany Dennis (Dustin); and great great-grandson, Caleb Wiley.

A Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Locust, 320 S Central Avenue with Rev. Tommy Ross, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, 5:00- 7:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Bobby Curlee to First Baptist Church of Locust or to Hospice of Cabarrus County.
