Bobby Garmon

Bobby “Bob” Edward Garmon, 69, of Midland, NC, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Bob was born July 27, 1941, in Cabarrus County, NC. He retired from Bowater paper mill in Catawba, South Carolina. Bob was a member of Mill Grove United Methodist Church in Midland, NC. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 618, American Legion Post 433 and served his country in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Oscar Garmon, mother, Fetney Hargett Garmon, brother, Nuton Garmon, and sister, Marie Gray. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Phyllis Hill Garmon, daughter, Angel Garmon Blackwelder, and grandson, Joshua Blackwelder, daughter, Teena Garmon Potts, her husband, Andy, and two grandchildren, Zachary and Jodi Potts. He is also survived by brother, Oscar Garmon, sisters, Betty Loving, Pat Phillips, Judy Walling, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, January 24, 2011, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Mill Grove United Methodist Church, Midland.
