Bobby Hairston

Bobby Joe Hairston, 90, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center.

Bob was born January 10, 1929 in Georgia to the late Angus and Bessie Hairston.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Aline and his three brothers Charles, Angus, and Glenn.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He retired from LANCE after a 20 year career as an accountant.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Edith Jarvis Hairston of Harrisburg, NC; his 2 daughters Cathy Warren and Barbara Davenport both of Lake Keowee SC, and his two grandsons, Brian and Stephen Warren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Harrisburg Chapel, officiated by Rev. Bill Clevenger.  Bob will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Harrisburg Baptist Church or to Novant Matthews Hospice care.
