Bobby Hinson

Bobby Dwayne Hinson, Sr., 69, of 40493 Snuggs Road, Norwood, passed away on April 22, 2010 at his home. He was a Maintenance Mechanic for Yadkin, Inc., Badin and a member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Saturday, April 24 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at his home. The funeral service will be at 2 pm, Sunday, April 25 at First Baptist Church in Albemarle. There will be a 30 minute state. Dr. Roger Thomas, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Porter Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Stanly County on September 1, 1940, he was a son of the late Zebedee Elisha Hinson and the late Leira Cornelia Marbry Hinson. He is survived by his wife Lois Ellie Morton Hinson of the home; sons, David Hinson and wife Mary of Gastonia, Bobby Dwayne Hinson, Jr. and wife Bernice of Winchester, Ohio and Jimmy Hinson and wife Karen of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Jenny Hinson and husband Kevin Taylor of Albemarle; brothers, James Hinson of New London, NC, Joel Hinson and Virgil Hinson both of Norwood, NC and a sister, Janice Bost of Norwood; 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bobby was a kind and gentle man, known for his smile and his humility. He was valedictorian of his high school class. He loved gardening, the mountains and his grandchildren.
