Bobby Rushing
March 20, 1943 — July 18, 2016
Bobby Ray Rushing Sr., 73 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Bobby was born March 20, 1943 in New London, North Carolina to the late Paul E. and Addie Wallace Rushing.
His wife, Susan Marie Rushing preceded him in death in May of 2016.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at Norview Gardens in Norwood with Rev. Todd McSwain officiating and military honors accorded by the Stanly County D.A.V. honor guard.
Survivors include Sister-in-Law, Linda (Steven) Blalock of Albemarle; brother in law Robert (Vickie) Fikkan of Yakima, WA and son, Bobby Ray (Crystal) Rushing, Jr. of Troy; and four grandchildren; three nephews, Thomas Blalock and Jeff and Brian Fikkan.
Bobby was a proud 1961 graduate of Badin High School and served in the U.S. Army as a MP dog handler. While being stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington, he met his future wife Susan. Bobby worked and retired as a supervisor with ALCOA
