Bobby Walker

Bobby Joe Walker, 78, of Concord, passed away Thursday, May 29,2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Walker was born December 5, 1935 to the late James Franklin Walker and the late Johnsie Melissa Walker. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on June, 1, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Tom Whidden and Mr. Lake Speed, will be held at Concord First Assembly Church, 280 Concord Pkwy S. #85, Concord, NC 28025 on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:00pm. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7940 Rocky River Rd, Concord, NC 28025. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie Ann Walker of Concord; a daughter, Kimberly and husband Ed Tatum of Concord; a son, Jamie Walker and wife April of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Justin, Sydney and Devin; two brothers, James F. Walker, Jr. and wife Elsie of Concord and Andrew Jackson Walker and wife Gail of Concord; and a sister, Windoll Gardner of Cornelius. Bobby proudly served his country in the Army for three years. He was also a member of the NRA, National Rifle Association and the Hornets Nest Car Club. Mr. Walker loved spending time with his family.
