Bonnie Bost

Bonnie Lucille Petrea Bost, age 97, a resident of Transitional Health Services and formerly of 1951 Mt. Pleasant Road West, Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at CMC NorthEast with complications from pneumonia. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Cold Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neil Haynes and Rev. Mary Hatley officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. At other times, friends met at the home of her son Ray, at 1855 Mt. Pleasant Road West, Mt. Pleasant. The Bost family received friends on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. Mrs. Bost was born on September 28, 1913 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Winfred and Ada Winecoff Petrea. Mrs. Bost graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1933, retired from Mt. Pleasant Hosiery Mill, and was the oldest member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church and was active in Evelyn Campbell Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and the Best Years Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband H. Wright Bost in 1989; sisters, Maybelle Shoe, Violet Smith, Ella Deaton; and brothers, Paul, Jerry, and Ray Petrea. She is survived by her son, Ray W. Bost and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Amy B. Williamson, Susan B. Fearrington and husband, Scott; great grandchildren, Cory Williamson, Hillary and Luke Fearrington; and a sister, Alice Heintz. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Transitional Health Services for their loving care of Mrs. Bost during the last years of her life and especially her good friend Ruby Hall.
