Boyd "Teak"

Boyd Wilson Furr, “Teak”, 59, of Alexander Farm Road, Monroe, passed away November 17, 2009, at his home. Mr. Furr was born May 6, 1950, to the former Webb Lee and Zillie Clontz Furr. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a brick mason with Deese & Furr Masonry. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 19, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Funeral service will be 10:00, Friday, Nov. 20, at Unionville Baptist Church, Monroe. Rev. Hank Parker and Rev. Dac Croasmun officiating. Interment will follow at the Lucy Helms Cemetery, 4316 Hillcrest Church Road, Monroe. Graveside military rites by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Furr of the home; son, Mark Furr; daughters Brandy Robinson and husband, Timmy, and Beth Furr; grandchildren Sidney and Russell Robinson; brothers Buren, Coy, Frank, and Bid Furr; sisters Delorce Tomberlin and Doris Teague.
