Beloved mother and grandmother, Brenda Jean Ferrier Gregory, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Main in Charlotte.
Brenda was born on January 18, 1942 in Cabarrus County to Tom and Annie Ferrier. She preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tommy Ferrier as well as her beloved husband, Bobby C. Gregory.
She is survived by her four children, Bobbie Ann Sechrest, Tom Gregory and girlfriend, Deanie, Robin St. John and husband, Michael, Jennifer Wallace and husband, Jerry; 15 grandchildren; Shanon Russell (Andy), Ashley Horton, Zachary Horton (Erica), Elizabeth Nebel (Sean), Emily Jang (Moon), Caleb St. John (Kaley), Micah St. John, Joseph Wallace, Jenna Wallace, and Jacob Wallace. In addition, she was survived by 15 great grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Family and music were very important to her. She loved to play the piano and began in childhood. She was happiest when her family was gathered around the piano singing as she played. Her southern cooking and ability to get a stain out of anything will be forever missed. She collected tea pots and loved to travel. Her family and friends will always remember her adventurous spirit, zest for life, generosity, independence and true spunky nature.
A celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, officiated by Robert Brooks and her sons-in-law. A private burial for her immediate family will be held at a later date.
The family would like to specifically thank the physicians, nurses and staff at CHS NE and CHS Main, Mercy Hospital as well as Davita Dialysis of Concord, the many health care professionals that attended to her daily as her health declined, and all of the friends she made at Camilla Hills.
Though her earthly body and spirit will be greatly missed, her legacy lives on through all that she impacted with her larger than life personality.
