Brenda Kay Huneycutt

Brenda Kay Huneycutt, 82, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.

Brenda was born September 28, 1942 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late John Craig Huneycutt and the late Gladys Hartsell Huneycutt. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Friday, January 10, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Oakboro. The funeral service will follow on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Oakboro officiated by Rev. Jonathan Waits. Burial will immediately follow at the Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.

Survivors include sister, Doris Hatley of Oakboro, NC; niece, Lisa Upright (Tracy) of Shallotte, NC; nephews, Phillip Hatley (Christy) of Oakboro, NC and John Hatley (Mandy) of Denver, NC; and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Brenda graduated from Oakboro High School and King's College. She enjoyed a 32 year career at Bell South working in the accounting and engineering departments. Brenda enjoyed shopping, traveling, coffee, and cruises. She also enjoyed living on her farm with her dogs. Brenda loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a secretary of the church for several years at First Baptist Oakboro where she was a lifetime member. She also enjoyed working with the Young Women's Association at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home or First Baptist of Oakboro Building Fund.
