Brenda Little

Brenda Mauney Little, 81, of Concord, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022.

Brenda was born October 28, 1941 in Concord to the late James "Cowboy" Mauney and the late Maggie Louise Hartsell Mauney.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert Wayne Little, Sr.; brother, Gene Mauney; and sisters, Elaine Little and Jimmie Doris Ross.

Brenda was a devoted wife, loving mother and fun-loving adored grandmother.  Brenda enjoyed going on cruises, surf-fishing at Fort Macon, and gambling at the Cherokee Casino.  She loved gardening and could grow anything.  Brenda made every holiday special with warm family traditions and delicious food.  We're going to miss her coconut cake.  Early in life, Brenda owned Little's Florist in Concord and worked many years at Mills Florist in Concord.  Brenda retired from Concord Hearing Aid.  She was a longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  After Wayne's passing, their faithful dog, Gizmo, provided Brenda comfort and entertainment.

Survivors include daughter, Kathi (Kevin) Kennedy of Concord; son, Robert Wayne (Nikki) Little, Jr. of Mount Pleasant; son, Travis (Norma) Little of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Jordan (Alyson) Kennedy, Chase (Sarah) Kennedy, Jessica (Hunter Rowland)Little, Christian (Michal) Little, Dillon (Alison) Little, Haley Little, Ava Little, and Colton Little; four great-grandchildren, Charlie, Hudson, Sam and Caden; one niece; and five nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service in celebration of Brenda's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Concord, officiated by Rev. Daniel Triplett and Rev. Ray Rivenbark.  Brenda will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service at the church.  She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
